Alaska Snow Load Research

SEAAK has partnered with the University of Alaska Anchorage to complete research on ground snow loads in Alaska.

Currently snow loads are given for 33 locations in Alaska in the ASCE 7 specification. If you happen to be located outside of one of these locations it can be difficult to determine the correct snow loads to apply.

A SEAAK working group is reviewing the research completed by UAA to determine which values should be included in the code. This effort will produce a white paper and an update to the ASCE 7-22 specification.
